Baldwins Hill - Equality Objectives 2025-26

The public sector equality duty (PSED) requires schools to prepare and publish equality objectives at least once every four years. The PSED was introduced by the Equality Act 2010 and applies to all schools, including maintained schools, academies, independent schools, maintained nursery schools, and maintained and non-maintained special schools.

Equality objectives are intrinsic to our School Development Plan 2025/2026. These objectives reflect the school’s ethos and values and will be updated annually.

Our Equality and Community Cohesion Policy aims to demonstrate our compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty:

Our Objectives

To ensure equality of opportunity and accessibility of learning and development for all members of the school community. For learners this includes full access to the curriculum for all to achieve success. (Evidenced by data analysis of gender trends and vulnerable groups)

To ensure every learner has full access to the enrichment opportunities on offer and are actively encouraged and supported to participate. (Evidenced by analysis of enrichment and extra-curricular participation)

To enable all members of the school community to develop positive attitudes about themselves and what they can achieve and contribute to the community, regardless of gender, background, or socio-economic status. (Captured through a variety of learner, staff, parent voice – including Family Learning Conference paperwork, Class Forum records, Pupil Surveys, wider community surveys)
